Campaign Story
By Nanay Telly:
My husband Boy Miguel was confined in Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu on July 19, 2019 due to problems in breathing. Water was found in his lungs because of heart failure. At that time, the hospital bill was the last thing on our mind since my husband is covered by my son’s employer’s benefits.
His fluid intake has been limited, connected to an oxygen source, and injected/made to take several medicines. Still, his breathing did not improve. Over a week of being confined in the hospital, he underwent angiogram and arteries were found to be blocked. It was recommended that he undergo angioplasty and that would require attaching up to seven (7) stents in his arteries. Each stent attached costs PHP 150,000.00, so the total would reach a million pesos or more. If complications arise in the process, the bill for the angioplasty could reach PHP 1.5 million.
For two days we were expecting him to undergo angioplasty but certain issues are hindering the doctors from doing the procedure. Problems include: pneumonia, kidney failure, heart failure, water in lungs, low hemoglobin level, diabetes, etc.
Today, August 1, we agreed that he be transferred to the ICU for better monitoring so that his condition will stabilize and he will be fit to undergo angioplasty. The HMO’s coverage has been used up. We hope you could provide financial assistance for my husband’s medical bills. I plan to retire next year and would love to spend my retirement years with my husband. We are praying for healing, for strength, for guidance, and more knowing that God hears our requests. Thank you.
