Get to Canada

My husband and I have had a goal to leave South Africa for years now. Unfortunately, we have been unable to raise the necessary funds. We now have a daughter, Abigail, who is almost two years old. We have had a very difficult 4 years or so and things have slowly improved, however, with the cost of living, saving has proven difficult. In the past years, myself and my husband were held up by three men at gunpoint in our own home. This was the most terrifying experience. Due to the lack of funds to immigrate, we opted to move to the bush and work for a private game reserve. This was an amazing experience. However, salaries were minimal. We came back to the city where we hoped we would be able to save extra money. I did my post-graduate degree while working full time. My husband struggled to find a job for about 4 or 5 months and eventually a family member took him in. Again, our salaries were less than what we expected they would be. Since then, we both have better jobs but living expenses increase continuously, making it extremely difficult to keep up. We both have secondary jobs for weekends for some extra cash flow. As I am sure it is known, South Africa has quite high crime rates and there have been multiple attempted child abductions in our country (specifically the city we live in) in the last 2 years or so, family members and friends have been held up in their homes and hijacked. And I am constantly looking over my shoulder, waking up at every noise and wondering where my escape route is when i stop at a traffic light. Is this the way we should live? Is this the way we should raise our daughter? We have family that live in Canada - they immigrated many years ago and I have seen how my cousins have grown up there and how the country cares for their children. This is the future I want for my daughter and any future children. Please help us #GetToCanada so that we can provide our children with the future that they deserve?
