Get Sean Back on His Feet

Sean Kaiteri is a stalwart of the expat and indigenous community in Taiwan.When there is a disaster or someone in need, Sean is always right there with an offer of help.Well, our friend now needs help himself.

A few months ago, Sean had an unfortunate accident where he broke his leg just above the ankle.Taiwan’s excellent health care paid for his hospital stay and treatment, but not for the complicated metal plates that had to be custom-made to repair the fracture.That left him with a bill of over NT$100,000, which he agreed to pay off in installments.

A few weeks later, however, Sean received some REAL bad news:He had contracted cellulitis in the area around the plates – a particularly nasty bacterial infection.People with cellulitis are in grave danger of contracting gangrene and losing the affected limb – or even death.

So Sean just spent two weeks in hospital, out of work, getting the treatment he needs … Health insurance pays for that treatment, but he needs to spend a MONTH off that leg in order to make sure that the infection doesn’t return.That means TWO MONTHS of no money until his next paycheck.Meanwhile there’s rent, payment on the plates, utilities necessary to keep that family afloat – including food for his little boy Bruce who is just starting to walk now.

Please, let’s help out a brother and friend, someone who himself has many a time organized fundraisers for people in the expat community in need
