This is Pinn, a 42ft Lavaranos, Multi Chine hull, center cockpit yacht made for blue water cruising. My ultimate goal in life is to get this beauty on the water and start my adventure on the high seas. As a Captain of fishing trawlers as well as a charted boat skipper, I’ve sailed many years of my younger life, the sea is where I belong!

I’ve settled in Scottburgh, a small coastal town in the heart of the KZN South Coast, SA. I spend my weekdays working on an amazing project building a retirement village. My days are long and challenging but every free waking hour in my life is spent working on Pinn, which will carry me on my ultimate adventure.

With so many challenges each day brings me, I’m finding it ever more tough to make this dream of mine a reality. I need my dream to be seen and ask for help getting it there.

I purchased Pinn in 2020 and even though she was just a shell, I saw her amazing potential and got to work soon thereafter. I’ve managed to complete most of the interior work. The next items on my ‘to-do’ list consist of the following items;

• Ballast steel punching or lead
• Diesel & water tanks
• 2 toilets / heads & holding tanks
• Rigging and mast
• 2x 48 & 2x 45 self-tailing winches
• Roller furling, anchor & chain
• Electronics

I do believe in my heart that once I have raised the funds a journey and dream will be realized.

Help me get Pinn in the water by the end of 2023.

Once Pinn is in the water my first step is to sail her to the Eastern Cape where I will spend some time with sea trials and getting her ready for an ocean crossing. Then Madagascar is my target followed by Indonesia and onto the greater Indian ocean.
