Get me on the property ladder

I live a very ordinary life and like so many other single working people I am trapped in a cycle of renting and cannot get in a position to save enough to even think of buying my own home. I'd love to be able to have a small home of my own that I can pay a mortgage off in time for retirement and that seems to be a very distant fantasy without your help.
