Get Leigh back to Seattle!

To Leigh's family, friends, and coworkers:

We have created this fundraising page to ask for your help to get Leigh home to Seattle from Billings, Montana.

Leigh was in a very bad accident on July 6th while visiting family in Wyoming. Leigh suffered a broken back, a fractured neck, a broken rib, and a fractured skull. After several surgeries to repair her back and skull fractures, Leigh is just about cleared to fly home. We recently found out that Leigh's insurance will not pay for her to be transported to Seattle. In addition, Leigh will not be able to fly commercially so in order to get her home we will need to pay for a privately chartered flight. The fees will include medical tranportation from St. Vincent Hospital to Billings Airport, the flight to Boeing Field in Seattle, and medical transportation from Boeing field to a rehab facility, where Leigh will start her inpatient rehabilitation.

As you can imagine Leigh will have a very significant medical bill. While she does have insurance it's looking like she will still have a very large bill to pay when all is said and done. In addition to the bills, it looks like it will be some time before Leigh is able to return to work.

Finally, as most of you know, Leigh is heavily involved in a non-profit organization called MarketShare. If you were at MarketShare's recent fundraiser you probably heard Leigh's inspirational speech and witnessed her display of emotion during that speech. After witnessing that, there were not many dry eyes left in the room. Any extra donations that we do not need to cover transportation and medical expenses will be donated to MarketShare (http://buildthemarket.org). We can say with 100% confidence that this is what Leigh would want.

Instead of sending gifts and flowers, we ask that you please consider donating here instead. Leigh always tells me not to waste money on getting her flowers :)

We are still in the midst of finding out which rehab facility Leigh will end up at in Seattle and we will continue to update the Facebook group with her status and any new information. Thank you all for your support and we hope to see you all in Seattle soon!
