Get Jim Ewing back to Maine fund

Hello Everyone! I’m issuing a challenge! I’ve known my friend Jim Ewing from just after we went through puberty, and although I don’t see him often anymore, he’s still one of my favorite people at this end of the solar system. He trashed himself climbing the Cayman Islands last week and is undergoing treatment in Florida. A gofuundme.com campaign has been launched to help defray all the extra expenses of bringing him home to Maine once a few rounds of surgery have been completed. (And yes, he has insurance.) It’s going to be a long haul and his family needs help. I can’t stop thinking about him (and praying for him and his family) and I feel the need to do more than make a small donation on gofundme.com. A few years ago I began doing pencil/charcoal drawings in my spare time each winter (because I was no longer brave enough to go ice climbing). I do photo-realistic illustrations that look don’t look like drawings unless you get really close. Each one takes about 40 hours. As many of you know Jim Ewing took a bad fall while climbing in the Caymans  recently.  He suffered broken bones including multiple fractures to his pelvis.  He is currently in a Florida hospital awaiting more surgeries. Luckily Jim does have health insurance but the bills are racking up fast.  Jim's goal is to come back to Maine, or at least to Boston, so he can be close to family for his ongoing medical care.  Insurance will not cover this transport  and he can't just hop on a commercial flight. Family and friends are exploring options and none are cheap (estimated to be between $6,000 and $18,000). We're hoping to raise some money to help get Jim home, and to offset some of the family's medical expenses.
