My name is Liam, and I'm a second year B ENG student at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Unfortunately, at the beginning of this year my glasses broke and the arm on the left side has completely broken off due to wear and tear. I have made numerous attempts at fixing it, but sadly it keeps breaking apart.
Being a student, I unfortunately do not have medical aid and my parents can't afford to assist in getting me a new pair. As it is, I am a NSFAS funded student (South African National Student Financial Aid Scheme) - I do not pay my fees as my family can't afford them. My dad has been unemployed since I matriculated in 2014.
What I currently need is the funds to get an eye test and subsequently, a new pair of lenses for my deteriorating eyesight, which is -4 in the right and -4.75 with astigmatism) in the left. To do this, I will need about R4000 (About 230 USD) in total in order to achieve this. Any assistance, whether it be advisary or monetary in nature, would be most appreciated. Most of all, thanks for taking the time to consider my circumstance and God bless!
Unfortunately, I can't provide my currency (South African Rand) to Paypal as it is unavailable under their options. Kindly pay any amount you wish to in dollars if you're using Paypal, or contact me directly for banking details. Also , Go get funding does not allow smaller than 250 dollars, so that's why it's higher than 230 USD on this site. Thank you!
