I'm feeling called to train to be a postpartum doula.
WHAT DOES A POSTPARTUM DOULA DO?
According to DONA (Doulas of North America):
"Postpartum doulas do whatever a mother needs to best enjoy and care for her new baby. A large part of their role is education. They share information about baby care with parents, as well as teach siblings and partners to “mother the mother.” They assist with breastfeeding education. Postpartum doulas also make sure the mother is fed, well hydrated and comfortable."
This year, rather than getting me a gift for Christmas or my birthday, consider donating to this fund so that I can finance the required reading materials, DONA approved workshop in Columbus, OH this September, and certification packet necessary to achieve this postpartum doula certification.
