Get Edee up Kili! 100 from a 100!

As some of you may already know, Jonty and I have decided to try get ourselves up Africa's largest mountain this year. We will be climbing the Great Mount Kilimanjaro from the 2nd - 10th October 2014.

As this is not something I am exactly skilled at doing, or if I must be honest, physically ready for, I have decided to motivate myself up said mountain by doing it for the charities we as SAWA (South-African's Women's Associaion) support.

I am asking a 100 of my nearest and dearest South-Africans to sponsor R100 towards this goal. Due to the current exhange rate it falls a little short of my Kenyan Goal of 100,000 KES, but you can see where I am going with this :-) All donations will go directly to SAWA and our work in Kenya.

SAWA is a non profit organization of women who volunteer their time, energy and love in order to give back to the communities of their host nation.  We have a dedicated committee who work tirelessly to create successful fundraising events which enable us to help the various charities we support.

A brief outline of the Charities I will be climbing for;

Wings of Compassion

Wings of Compassion is a rescue home for teenage girls who become expectant as a result of rape, early sexual relationships, prostitution and drug abuse, we assist in providing shelter, food and love but they also help restore hope to these teenagers through one on one counseling sessions, giving them a chance to go back to school, offering technical skills and becoming care givers to their babies thus empowering them to reach their destiny.

Great Mission Kids

The center offers support to both Primary & Secondary school going orphans and underprivileged children from the nearby slums. Otaro provides a safe haven for 13 girls and 10 boys, he feeds them, clothes them and pays for them to attend school.

Chandaria Primary

A government Primary School that caters to 1200 pupils from the surrounding slums. Government assistance covers teachers salaries and basic supplies however this support doesn’t adequately cover the needs and as a result the school is in dire need of equipment and additional facilities.

If you have read this far and decided to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from the top of the roof of Africa.

Love and light,

Edee
