On 3 March 2023 I will be heading off on a big adventure! 5895m above sea level, the tallest mountain in Africa, the highest free standing mountain in the world and one of the Seven Summits of the World. It has been calling my name… I’m off to climb Kilimanjaro!

I've always been fascinated by individuals who do extraordinary things in their lives. I asked myself, why can't I do that? What's stopping me from doing extraordinary things? Looking at my community where I live, most do not believe dreams can be made a reality and therefore they do not strive for anything greater in life. 9 years ago I've spoken this into existence and I'm finally deciding to do it. I want to do something GREAT for me and my community, to show that dreams can be accomplished and higher heights can be reached no matter your circumstances.

Euphoric and Accomplished. This is what I always feel after a hike. I enjoy the physical challenge, pushing myself, enduring the pain and admiring the views along the way. The moments such as drinking water from a stream, seeing beautiful flowers emerging from a rock, encouraging a friend to go further and camping on the mountain are unforgettable experiences that not everyone might have or be into. This is my break away from the busy world we live in.

To conquer one of the most glorious, record-breaking mountains in the world is a dream come true to many adventurers and it will soon no longer be a dream for me too!
