My name is Chido Nyaruwata and I'm a young academic, traveller and blogger from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼. My next adventure is Tokyo, Japan for a partially funded Junior Fellows internship in the Office of the Rector at the United Nations University! I'm the first Zimbabwean and 2nd UCT student to be offered the internship.
For the past three years, I've floated between Harare and Cape Town as I pursued my Masters in International Relations studies at the University of Cape Town.
Growing up, I always dreamed of working for the United Nations because I wanted to contribute towards creating a more peaceful, equal and happier global society. In November 2019, this dream became a reality! I have been offered the Spring 2020 Junior Fellow Intern position in the Office of the Rector at the United Nations University in Tokyo. I am extremely excited to be working with the UNU as the the first Zimbabwean intern for the Office of the Rector. My internship is from February-June 2020.
Whilst I'll recieve a monthly stipend of approximately US$550, I AM KINDLY ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE TO SECURE A RETURN FLIGHT FROM HARARE TO TOKYO, ACCOMMODATION AND LIVING COSTS FOR THE INITAL THREE MONTHS OF MY INTERNSHIP. I plan to supplement the reminding months with earnings from freelance writing and teaching English in Tokyo. With your donations of US$3 500 and my projected future earnings from my freelance work, I can reach my financial goal of US$5000.
Thank you for taking the time out to read and donate. I really appreciate appreciate your support.
