Get our national pride on a flight!

The Belgian Gryffins are the national quidditch team in Belgium and they are going to the IQA World Cup in Florence in the last weekend of June.

Our national quidditch team consists out 21 players who are mostly students and don't have a lot of money. That's why we need YOUR help to get these talented individuals to show the world what they really got.

The Belgium national quidditch team, known as the Belgian Gryffins, is the national team of Belgium in quidditch. The team was founded in 2014 upon the announcement of the 2014 IQA Global Games, the International Quidditch Association’s second international tournament featuring national teams.

The team is overseen by the Belgian Quidditch Federation, the head organisation of all quidditch in Belgium. The name Gryffins and the logo come from the combination of Belgium’s two community’s symbols: the Walloon rooster and the Flemish lion.

Belgian Quidditch Federation

Belgian Quidditch Federation wants to be a home to all Belgian quidditch players. By helping advance new and older teams, we want to help grow quidditch within Belgium.

Belgian Quidditch Federation wants to support the several teams on multiple levels. Such as financial support by giving grants, supervising season competitions but also through offering education to help grow the sport on national level. We also organise events and tournaments to give the teams enough opportunities to develop themselves.

Belgian Quidditch Federation wants to be a place where everyone can be themselves. We strive to build a community where we empower all genders to compete together.

Not sure what quidditch is?

Quidditch is a mixed-gender, full-contact sport for two teams of seven players, each mounted on broomsticks, using three different kinds of balls and playing four different positions. It fuses elements of rugby, dodgeball, wrestling, basketball, and even more sports. This makes the sport seem rather chaotic to a casual observer, but once you're familiar with the basic rules quidditch is an exciting sport to watch and even more exciting to play.
