Campaign Story
I have written a detailed biography of the composer, George Butterwort. It will be published later this year by Musikproduktion Hoefich of Munich, but I need to raise enough funds to pay for the pictures - of which there should be a lot. The copyright fees are quite high, but I have no advance. The main sources of photographs will be the English Folk Dance and Song Society, the Bodleian Library and the Durham County records office (but there are a few more). The book is about 90,000 words (about 270 pages) and will be the first work to thoroughly examine his music.
I live in the Philippines, where I retired with my wife after a stroke in 2008. But I am British, and have much support back in the UK - though not financial.

I have read a draft of this great biography of Butterworth. It's beautiful and deserves to be available - with pictures, for all to enjoy. It will also send readers rushing off to listen to some Butterworth too...so, Phillip Brookes we also suggest a CD to be included inside the covers! ( No, that last bit is a joke - if you point us in the right direction, we'll find the glorious music! Thank you for this opportunity to contribute.

I recently purchased the copyright to use a 1956 photo of Thunderclap Jones for my short bio and it cost me £75. i know it can be very expensive. Good luck.
