GenX Job Bank – Helping GenerationX Find Their Way In The Job Market

GenX Job Bank is dedicated to helping those born between the years 1965 and 1982 (or thereabouts) also known as “Generation X,” find meaningful, rewarding employment.

We will do this through coaching and encouragement; by helping employers understand our generation better; and by seeking to connect employers with GenX employees.

In this campaign, launching March 21, 2017, we are seeking initial start-up funding of $30,000 for operational expenses, including staffing, promotions, and equipment.

Many GenXers are at the time in our lives when we’re seeking new challenges. It’s too early for retirement, but many of us may have been released from previous jobs that have downsized, or were in fields that no longer exist!

Many Boomers are retiring, and companies are seeking out talented people to fill their place – and many of them aren’t quite ready to hire Millennials in their late 20s or early 30s for mid- and upper-level management positions.

That’s where GenX Job Bank comes in. Marshaling our online resources and human talent, we will remind GenXers that we have much to offer to employers, and will share stories and benefits concerning our ongoing usefulness in our working lives. We will coach them on how to best take their next steps in that journey, and seek to bring them together with employers, once our job bank is fully operational.

We will seek out talented candidates for employment who are looking for a fresh start in a new position and a chance to prove their talents, and we match them with companies that are actively seeking talent, but can’t find it.

Gen X Job Bank isn’t just another online job board with endless job postings that aren’t relevant to you. We are a small pool of talented individuals who take the careers of GenXers seriously.

Gen X Job Bank will also seek to educate employers and the public about the benefits of employing Gen Xers in positions of rising responsibility in the wake of mass retirement among Boomers. We will accomplish this through numerous channels, including social media, lectures, and research papers.
