We are the Youth for a United World (Y4UW) of the Focolare Movement , founded by Chiara Lubich in 1985. We come from 180 countries spread across the five continents and we are individuals of different faiths, cultures and social backgrounds. We live for a more fraternal and united world by concretely practicing the Golden Rule “Do unto others what you want them to do unto you,” in many aspects of our daily life – politics, economics, labour, environment, sports, communications, and science.
This coming 6-7-8 July 2018, we will be having our Genfest at the World Trade Center in the Philippines - a festival of ideas, thoughts, and actions that aim to inspire thousands of youth to live for the better, to live for their future, and to live for the world.
Genfest 2018: BEYOND ALL BORDERS intends to highlight the boundaries that need to be overcome at personal and social levels. With the objective of opening the minds and the hearts of the youth to live with consciousness and concern for everyone and for their community, the Genfest will feature artistic manifestations, music, dances, expositions, forums, etc., that will enable everyone to think differently and to transform life’s troubles and uncertainties into something more beautiful.
We are reaching out to everyone who recognizes in some way, the work that we do and the world we strive to live for. This fundraising campaign aims to defray the surprising costs of the participation fee, in order for more young people to able to attend the event. We are expecting 10,000-12,000 youth participants from all over the world to be witnesses of a united world, and your donation would make so much of a difference in making Genfest 2018 a successful event.
