The life journey I have been on personally has been a rollercoaster of medical issues from since entering adulthood. As a child growing up it was hard achieving a normal life but tried over and over again. From my late teens my body started showing signs of weakening: loose of partial hearing, bone decay mouth, started having eye sight problem with inversion of left eye socket causing blurred and tunnel vision and vast body fatigue. Heading into adulthood at 21 years old I suffered my first heart attack while away on holidays interstate. I was hospitalised for a week before being transported back to my home state for further testing and investigations. My doctors struggled to find systematic causes for this attack and later diagnosed with Long QT syndrome from my testings. Beta blockers were used for 2 years before again blood pressure was showing signs of weakening causing seizures. More testing was completed and was diagnosed with Epilepsy and Narcolepsy with vasa-vago syncope. Doctors removed me beta blockers and replaced with high dose of amphetamines. This was a big step as amphetamines and heart condition done mix. Ended up spending next 6 years on amphetamines, and still continuing to have attacks. My doctors could not find cause of attacks with blood pressure decreasing, blackouts, seizures, memory lose and bodies fatigue was growing. At 29 years old we delivered our first daughter Savanah. Happiest day of my life. Later she was diagnosed with Zellweger Syndrome a rare non-curable condition that the infant won’t survive 12 months old. Savanah survived 9 months 11 days before succumbing to renal heart failure. Gene testing was done but later found out was not enough and since Savanah pasted we were unable to do further testings due to cremation. At 31 years old we delivered our second daughter Ella-Rose. A joyful event to have another child but then she was showing signs same as her sister. We knew it was Zellweger but by time tests came back to confirm was to late Ella-rose passed at 9 months 17 days. At 32 years old my body is going through another change. This time I suffered 3 stroke like symptoms early in 2014 with eventually suffering a heart attack in May while at work. 3 months of testing and 2 more stroke symptoms I went under the knife to have aimplantable cardioverter- defoliator (ICD) in December 2014. Big life changes are now in play and have been a struggle. Present day now 33 years old 11 months after suffering heart attack and 5 months after ICD implanted, I am still suffering with all symptoms still present and my doctors think the ICD may have been the wrong path but its going to help later on in life. I’m here today to seek help in funding for genetic heart condition screening test, flight and one night accommodation to Melbourne Australia. I have been off work since May 2014 and with this testing I will have answers and a medical pathway that will help me understand what I am dealing with to help me and my family.
