Genesis’ 2nd Surgery

Genesis has been at the shelter for over a year.  She is a beautiful, friendly and loving pitbull mix who needs your help.  She is a favorite among the volunteers and Staff and it is our goal to get her the help she needs.  She is currently being fostered, so she can recover comfortably, by one of the volunteer's relatives.  Genesis has a torn ACL and torn minuscus in her right leg. The volunteers at the Mt. Vernon Animal Shelter, came together and donated enough money for the 1st surgery.   The surgery cost was $2000 and took place yesterday (wed Jan 22nd). She is now resting comfortably in her foster home and just beginning the stages of recovery. While in surgery, the doctor checked out Genesis' other leg and realized her other leg was just as bad (torn ACL and torn minuscus in her left leg) and needed the same surgery.  The quicker she has the 2nd surgery, the faster she will be bac to her old self, being the Genesis we all know.  With these surgeries, her chances of being adopted sooner increases.

This chipin if to raise money for Genesis 2nd surgery (left leg).  We are trying to raise $2000 so once she is recovered from the 1st surgery, Genesis can have the 2nd surgery.
