General Election Vale of Glamorgan / MacMillan Cancer

I am seeking to raise a minimum of £500 to cover my deposit at the May 2015 General Election. If elected all funding will be donated to the local MacMillan Cancer Charity plus £10,000p.a. from the MPs salary. If not elected but the deposit not lost £500 will be donated to MacMillans. I will be standing on a non Party platform as an independent campaigner under the banner of Angry Voters Demanding Change representing the following policies:

Anti Austerity

Yes to an EU Referendum

No to Privatisation of the NHS

Yes to increased Funding of the NHS

Yes to an immediate increase in the minimum wage to £8.00 an hour  

Immediate reduction in VAT to 17.5% to get Britain growing again

Scrap Trident reinvest funding saved in the Armed Forces, Police and the NHS

Scrap HS2 rail programme replace with significant investment in the return of a nationalised Railway service.

Increase Tax Threshold for the Low Paid to £15000

Introduce 50% tax rate for earnings over £100,000 p.a

I am 62 years of age , well educated and well travelled. I have work experience as a Director of an American multinational, have run my own business employing 100 plus, have been a Publican, a professional sportsman and have worked as a Milkman, a Factory hand,and am currently working full time for the minimum wage at Cardiff airport.

If sufficient votes gained to retain deposit of £500 this sum will be donated to MacMillan Cancer. If elected ALL sums raised will be donated to MacmIllan Cancer plus £10,000 from the MPs yearly salary ie £50,000 over 5 years.

Further policies to be argued for:

Introduce a Mansion Tax through new Council Tax Bands that recognise properties over £2 million in value should contribute more to

Introduce Rent Controls on Private Landlords to prevent exploitation and reduce the Housing Benefit bill

Substantial increases in Police Manpower and  Armed Services Manpower 

Replace all Police Commissioners with direct control by local government

Create 1 South Wales Police Force with Chief Constable responsible to electorate

Recruit 20,000 additional Nurses and Doctors to upgrade  NHS performance

Freeze MPs salaries and provide hostel accomodation to reduce expense claims

MPs to work full time in Parliament, no to a second income or employment

Annual Recall option for misbehaving MPs

Compulsory Attendance in House of Commons, minimum 40 hour week

My basic philosophy is one of an Angry Voter disillusioned by the vested interests of those that rule us. If elected I will be a thorn in their side seeking alliances with like minded MPs on a wide range of issues. During the campaign I will make a lot of noise!

 

I am hoping to attract the votes from all the other Candidates by offering voters an alternative to party politics. I do not expect to form a Government! but neither in reality will any of the other candidates. The Tory and Labour candidates will just become voting fodder expected to follow party lines. I will become a constant thorn in their side challenging privilege,pomp and ceremony,the class system and corruption.
