Campaign Story
This is Mariam's "home" in Gaza.
Mariam is the sister of one of our SEP Jordan artisans, Asma.
She is the mother of 9 children and this shelter is a place they call home.
As winter approaches, her and her family could use a warm roof over their heads so that they can brace the cold. We're not looking for anything fancy, just something that can keep them warm and give them shelter.
On the inside, there is no tiling, no heating, no sewage, no electrical wiring. Can you imagine having to live like this?
Every contribution can help bring them closer to suitable living conditions and we need your help. Initial costs for the home are:
*Building material: US$ 4000
*Tiling: US$ 1000
*Insulation: US$ 1000
*Sewage system: US$ 1000
*Doors and windows: US$ 1000
We are looking to raise US$9,500 (Euro 8,500) to allow them to build a home and get some warm clothes for the winter season.
Our goal is to raise the money before the end of October so that they can start building right away.
Roberta Ventura and Helen Al Uzaizi created the fundraiser and will take personal responsibility to make sure the funds reach Mariam promptly.
