I am an artist with passion to inspire people especially the LGBTQ+ community, this visual poem book, will have my digital portraits and artworks with accompanied poems that tells a story of ups, downs, love, rejection, acceptance, respect and understanding. I want to create a visual book that will hopefully used as a voice of our community (LGBTQ+) about struggles, stories and secrets we have. I want to show another facet of the community to the world. Especially here in the Philippines where gay people are seen as comic relief, joy provider which I think is a good thing, but, I want to show the world that the members of LGBTQ+ have stories to tell. This is how I made the concept for 'Gay and Colorblind' a visual poem book.
I am asking for your help, financially because I don't have the requirements to create my artworks, when I need to draw I need a pentab for digital painting which I borrow from my classmate, now that we are graduates, it's hard for me to borrow. I also need to have an initial money as capital for the production of the book itself. In my current financial status I can't buy the needed tool (pentab) which costs $100 (P4,000) for the cheapest model. My goal is to reach at least $1,000 to buy a pentab and start the printing and production.
If this project is successful and will sell, I will hopefully release a second book. Which half of the earned money will be donated to a local LGBTQ+ organization. I really want this project to start and be done, I have a lot of concepts and arts that I want to do, but cannot because of the lack of pentab.
