Gavin’s fight against Rhabdomyosarcoma Cancer

Our precious little Gavin was diagnosed of Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare type of cancer last May 1 2020 that has metastasized in his left lung, abdomen, and liver. We were in the hospital for exactly 1 month. When the doctors found out his diagnosis, Gavin had to undergo through a lot scans, xrays, swab tests, some insertion of tubes to his chest and his abdomen to drain out the fluids that occurred and multiple laboratory tests. He was even put in ICU for strictly monitoring as his case got worsen. We even came to a critical point that got us very worried. But someone reminded us that nothing is impossible if only we could put all our trust and faith to Him. And that is JESUS. We surrendered everything to him and let him take the battle of our son for us. From that day on, God has been faithful to us. Little did we know that it would be the start of our son’s recovery from this disease. Gavin got better day by day. We were able to get out of the ICU and was transferred to a regular room. With this pandemic that is happening, our savings was not even enough to pay for all the expenses, so we must create a fundraising that helped us to settle the bill in the hospital. It is unbelievable! But what we all know is that God had helped us.

From the day that our warrior got discharge from the hospital, we were just visiting hospital for chemotherapy sessions. A lot of CT scans was made every after cycle and all of it were good news as he continues to respond to all the chemo drugs that he has been taking. Last CT scan showed that it had more improvements and an operation for removing the tumors will be already considerable at this time. Next week November 11 2020, he will have to undergo PETSCAN for the doctor to see if his left lobe liver is already clear so that they could proceed with the operation as they would need to cut a portion of his right lobe liver since there are still tumors attached on it. Should the scan show that it would be favorable to do the operation already then, they might need to do it ASAP already as chemo drugs has a certain time only that it works. With this, the operation will take around P500,000.00 just for removing a portion of his liver. This is still apart from removing his tumor that might be close enough to the same amount. Plus, the costs that might take during his recovery in ICU. With this estimated amount, we would like to seek out again for your help for the better recovery and continuous healing of our only son. So, if it’s not too much to ask from you, here we are again knocking your hearts for our little Gavin. We know that it has been a crazy year of pandemic, any amount will do and is greatly appreciated by our family. We would like to seek for financial assistance and lots of prayers also as this will be a very challenging moment again for our little Gavin.
