My father's story began in 2003. He delevoped a tumor in his stomach that started bleeding and he had to undergo a big surgery as there was a threat for his life. Back then the research for that specific kind of tumor wasn't advanced enough so it was identified as a harmless growth with no chance of metastasis.

In 2011 he started experiencing symptoms of fatigue and couldn't breathe and routine tests showed that he had two large growths in his liver covering the whole right side. He had to be referred to a German professor to do the operation as it was life threatening and couldn't be done in Greece. The German doctors found that the growths in the liver was metastasis from the stomach and it was finally identified as Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour ( GIST).

The operation went well but there was a long way of recovery and he had to take medication for the rest of his life. In 6 months the doctors found metastasis in the lungs but it could be controlled with the medication. In 12 months he had a seizure and MRI showed a metastasis in the brain. He underwent surgery again and changed to stronger medication.

This brings us to today. Routine MRI showed 2 more growths in his brain and he needs special radiation treatment because doctors deemed that surgery is very risky. This is very costly and only part of the cost is covered by the Greek NHS so we need to cover the rest ourselves.

This is the rest of the money needed for the treatment.

Please help forward and help if you can. Any excess funds raised will be donated for research

Thank you
