Wings2fly is a unique ambulance service designed to make the last wishes of terminally ill patients become a reality. We will offer bespoke vehicles, staffed by a clinician and a driver to deliver a comfortable, friendly and relaxing experience.
The vision and hope of all connected with the WJBF is to be able to make a difference. And we believe Wings2fly will do exactly that. We want to fulfil the final wishes of palliative patients and create lasting memories for those family and friends who are with their loved ones every step of the way, every day. Attending a family gathering, a wedding, a visit to the beach or maybe just a ride home to spend some quality 'normal' time together. Wings2fly will provide the transport and the staff to get you where you want to be, safely and comfortably.
Children and adults alike will benefit from this service.
We continue in our effort to raise funds for this incredible cause, which will make such a difference to many people's lives and the Foundation is currently in the early stages of applying for charity status.

Hi all, I'm Gary, a Paramedic with 13 years experience working on frontline ambulances for the NHS.
With the recent passing of my grandmother (Nan) Jean, I have decided to set up the (WJBF) Winifred Jean Burge Foundation. Nan had always been an inspiration to me and after her passing I have been inspired to use my expertise as a Paramedic and her requirement of the NHS to design a service where we are able to make a difference.
Secondly we are looking to also provide smaller transporters, which are designed to convey palliative care and end of life patients, from home to a receiving medical centre, hospital or hospice and back again. The service would entail collecting and transporting the patients in a safe and comfortable environment, from where they are living, taking them to where they will be having their treatment. If required staying with the patient whilst they have their treatment and then bringing them back home in readiness for their next course of treatment.
The regions to be covered by the transporters initially will be: Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, New Milton, Verwood, Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Wimborne, Blandford and surrounding areas. There would be no charge to the patients for our Service.
Thirdly we aim to provide assistance to frontline crews and Emergency Department staff by easing demand on the service.
Funds raised for the WJBF will also be used to help purchase and fully equip, a brand new, state-of-the-art high dependency/intensive care ambulance, which we will donate to our local Emergency Department.
We hope that this will help ease the current strain placed on our local hospitals and NHS ambulance service. The ambulance would be based in the south, Bournemouth & Poole areas, to assist both local hospitals in transferring the sick and injured. The ambulance will be designed and ready to provide High dependency and Intensive care to paediatrics, maternity and other extremely unwell patients, requiring transfer to another medical facility
