Gamma Knife Brain Radiosurgery for 9 -year-old Joshua

A wonderful day to all ! I am Verona Gay Faessler, Filipina and married to a German national. I am writing you all from Cebu, Philippines appealing to your most generous heart for the son of my childhood’s friend Theresa Amistad Ranan.

Let me introduce you Theresa. She is a mother of two active, happy and adorable boys ages 14 and 9 years old. She has been separated from her husband for about 7 years now and since then she became a single parent and solely supporting the kids. The father of the boys has not got a permanent job and cannot support the children so she decided to work abroad at Hsinchu City, Taiwan as a house helper leaving her two boys to her sister care. Since 2012 in a dream to provide her boys a better life, she goes home only once a year to save money even if missing some of the milestones of her kids but all of these she endures for the sake of her children’s future. She is earning in Taiwan approximately twenty four thousand pesos that is approximately three hundred eighty six ( 386 ) Euro per month and the twenty thousand pesos is to be sent for the children’s need back home to Philippines. This amount is somewhat big in the Philippines to live but not when you have medical needs.

In the Philippines, hospitals are not for free though we have public hospitals but they always often overcrowded and not fully equipped with the high tech medical machines.

Theresa’s youngest son, Joshua Miguel A. Ranan, age 9 years old is in need of money amounting 500 thousand pesos for Gamma Knife Surgery for Brain Arteriovenous Malformations ( AVM ). This surgery is not available in the public hospitals and not even where we live. Theresa and the child has to travel to Manila ( Ph capital city) for it is only there in one of the private hospitals equipped with all these special medical apparatus and machines. Joshua's surgery is in Cardinal Santos Medical Center as what recommended by the physician.

The treatment is extremely expensive but this is the only medical recommendation by the Joshua's physician because the blood clot is located in the most risky part of the brain. However, the recovery is about 90 percent. The surgery is very urgent for the recovery will take years.

I am knocking to your kind heart to help my friend, Theresa whose only dream and prayer for now is to her child to be operated , healed and be a normal child again. Your donors in whatever amount is such a huge help . She is also open if you can recommend charities who give medical treatment for free even if they have to travel outside or inside the country.
