About me & my project

Hi,

I am 21 year old student, studying IT as a major and economics as a minor.  I am working on creating a multiplayer PC game. The game will offer players the chance to create their own country in a fictional World, but based on the real World we live in.

Through gameplay, players will learn economics, politics, warfare and develop diplomatic relations. The game is directly inspired by the "Sid Meier's Civilization" game series, however my game will be free and only playable online with other players. Of course, it will lack the 3D graphics, but will more than compensate for that with other content.

I have completed the programming and design of the game, as well as funded most of it myself, but I am lacking the funds to assemble the necessary PC hardware for the server to assemble it in time for an August start of the game. The funds will be used to purchase a few components that I'm lacking to finish my server.

I do not wish to charge anyone for playing the game or place annoying advertisments, that is why I am asking anyone willing to help, to contribute to my project. I will make sure all of the names/nicknames are listed as contributors on the website once this fundraiser has ended.
