We have had an incredible year of serving the Filipino people, and we continue to advance the women’s movement here and across the diaspora by educating, organizing, and mobilizing our communities. Please support us as we RISE Against Fascism, RESIST Militarization, and UNITE for the liberation of Filipino women and all oppressed people around the world!

We need your help in sending five members of GABRIELA New York as delegates to the Philippines for an Exposure Trip and to attend GABRIELA Congress—the convening of national and global chapters to outline the organization’s action steps for the upcoming year.

GABRIELA New York is a grassroots organization and completely fueled by the collective power of volunteers, so today we are asking you for your continued support in 2020! Support our kasamas as they make the journey towards advancing the women’s struggle in the Philippines, here, and across the diaspora!

At Congress, our representatives will meet with other women human rights defenders from GABRIELA chapters across the world, learn skills to empower movements abroad, and return to NYC to share what they’ve learned with members, Filipino-American communities and solidarity allies.

During their exposure trip, our delegates will bear witness to the people’s resistance to President Rodrigo Duterte’s macho-fascist regime. They will integrate with communities across sectors of Philippine society—peasants, the urban poor, indigenous peoples and national minorities, political prisoners, human rights defenders and more—and face the same conditions on the ground that the majority of the Filipino people experience every day.

When our delegates return to NYC, they will share the stories of the Filipino people and communities through reportbacks, which are free and open to the public. Our delegates will present their findings on the current human rights situation in the Philippines and inspire the fight here and across to the diaspora—as we struggle towards genuine peace and liberation. Our goal is to raise $5000, which will help cover registration and program fees, international and in-country travel, medical emergencies, lodging, visa fees, and other daily expenses (i.e. food, cellphone credits, etc.). Any extra funds will be used towards the communities that we will integrate with. No donation is too small and every share counts!
