Future Medical Leaders

 Hello, my name is Corally Valembrun, I'm 16 and I live in Newark NJ. I know $1585 is a lot to raise but I would like to tell my donners why I need this money. On January 2010, my country Haiti was hit with a massive earthquake. While I was still in the country when the earthquake happened, I lost my house, and a close friend of mine but thankfully my family did not get hurt. My father sent my sister and I to America in hopes of getting a good education. It was really hard learning a new language and adopting a new culture but God was on my side and helped my family through this rough time. I live in America with my siblings and my mother who currently does not have a job, my father is still in Haiti working so he can send us money to live on. I see my dad 2 times or sometimes once a year depending on our financial needs. The money he sends us helps us pay for my school and other expenses around our appartment. Even if the money is not enough, we all make sacrifices to live our daily lives. I currently got accepted to this program called Future Medical Leaders, they asked to join their program in hopes on helping become a surgeon when I'm older. I got excited when i received the letter but soon find out that I had to pay $1585 in order to attend. My dad sacrificed a lot for my family and it's my turn to show him that I value what he did and that I'm proud of him. This program will set my future, i want to become a surgeon and i believe that his program will help me with me accomplish my dream. I want to show kids and especially my siblings that our lives is hard and challenging but that should not stop us from dreaming or acccomplishing our goals and dreams. Sure money is a problem but we must not give up, we must fight until the end. That earthquake might have brought destruction but it also turned me into the confident, intelligent, responsible, dedicated and beautiful young women I am today. I hope you guys will help my dreams come true. Thank you.
