Campaign Story
I am writing this letter in behalf of my nephew, Ryan Philippe R. Adrados, 17 years of age.
Ryan was born on Dec. 11, 2000 with a congenital defect that hampered his normal development as a child.
Foremost of his problems is his inability to control his motor (hands) and muscular abilities.
While there were attempts to send him to school, the experience was unfortunate. Too often his teachers would lose their patience and in some instances resort to physical punishment that effectively destroyed the child’s enthusiasm to learn.
At his current age, he is still unable to read and write properly.
While his parents were able to care for him and school him at home, this were sadly, inadequate as they both were barely earning enough to maintain a home and hardly had time for him.
To make matter worst, Ryan’s mother, Mary Ann Adrados, recently passed away last September 11, 2017 of stage 4 breast cancer, leaving only the father to care for him.
With the loss of the mother’s income, his father’s meager earnings will barely cover their daily expenses.
Despite help and assistance from a few relatives, there is hardly enough to cover even a rudimentary education.
While the boy is eager to find a job, his manual control disability and his lack of basic reading and writing skills has proven to be a negative factor to any possible job offer no matter how menial the job is. Since birth, Ryan has had no benefit of medical attention or needed therapy simply because it is beyond the family’s financial capacity.
In summary, we are compelled to seek help and assistance from generous and charitable institutions and individuals.
It is our goal to help him and support his chances of coping and surviving in the future on his own as we are aging and retired.
Thank you so much…
