Living in South Africa, I'm a 22 year old female who is striving towards obtaining my pilot licence. Since high school I have had the goal and dream of being involved in the aviation sector, specifically to work on a game farm and help rehabilitate wild life. The wild life in Africa is currently endangered due to over poaching, many of these animals that are poached are injured or left to die. With my pilot licence I will be able to help find injured animals and in essence contribute towards the survival and rehabilitation of the wild life. I'm aiming to obtain my CPL (commercial pilots licence) for both fixed wing and helicopter throughout my studying career.

Currently I'm working full time while I study but this is no easy task as the hours I work are not consistent. With month to month expenses it creates a challenge for me to save and pay for my studies. I am currently funding myself in all aspects of my studies which total R500,000 (23000 euros) . My expenses for my studies include hiring of my instructor, each lesson, eight subject books, eight exams, flight lessons, flight exam, travel fare to and from the lesson, hiring of the aircraft, each rating for the specific licence and all study materials.

,

I attend Morning star flight school and try to attend a lesson every 2nd week ,as per my financial status can accommodate me. I am aiming to complete my licence in a period of 2.5 years, due to the scarcity of work for pilots in wildlife conservation.

I appreciate all and any contributions and donations towards helping me achieve my dream of obtaining my pilot licence. Thanking you in advance for all future financial support which will be provided. May God bless you and your kind-heartedness.

Kind regards
Savannah Faulmann
