Club Fusion 18 Black (Marengo, IL) will be participating in a "Main Project" while in San Juan del Sur. The project will be part of a school restoration project. Fusion 18 Black will be raising the necessary funds to provide the paint and supplies necessary for the project. In addition, 18 Black will be providing additional labor to paint these schools while in San Juan del Sur. For more information on the trip, please visit http://18black.fusionsportscenter.com/.
San Juan del Sur is a gorgeous little tourist-surf town that has shown sustainable growth over the past 10+ years. Unfortunately there are many little rural suburbs, some just 5-10km away, that aren't sharing in the prosperity. Bring It Promotions has been heavily involved in one such community: El Carizal. We started a women's jam co-op (now sustainable and profitable), built a school, and also recently built a community kitchen. The community has rallied around these efforts and now takes initiative to fix community issues.
The next town to the south, Escamaquita, has reached out for help as they have 4 schools in the region, and all desperately need a good cleaning, paint job, and new bathrooms (see photos above). The community has pledged the labor, and a local real estate company is providing supervision. Bring It Promotions promised to come up with the cash, and use the event as an "activity" for Club Fusion 18 Black.
The four schools are all elementary schools about 8-11km south of San Juan del Sur. Rural areas, lots of subsistence farming, and we need to educate the kids properly to give them chances.
