Furnishing our theater space

Teatru la Infinit is an independent theater in Sibiu, Romania dedicated to all categories of public. Our focus is on comedies and contemporary texts and at the moment we can only perform in pubs and clubs, therefore we need our own location. Teatru la Infinit is made out of young, professional actors, who want to bring joy and beauty into people's lives.

We are raising money for our theatre to find a space for the performances and to equip it.

OUR STORY

"Teatru la Infinit" was born in December 2017, when the first performance was brought to stage, "Merry Christmas, Grinch", a Christmas play, a comedy made out of moments that described the Christmas feeling. It was a successful play, where people found new meanings to Christmas and life.

The next show was a lesser known concept in Romania: "Stand up Poetry", where one actress stood up in front of the public, telling poems and making rhymes.

What came next were two more plays, two comedies that have filled the clubs in Sibiu.

We also like to bring to stage one-man shows, and the one that was a huge hit in Sibiu's pubs and clubs was "Have it with bread", a show about the true meanings of living in Romania.

Our last show, "In three is better", is a comedy about our everyday life, about couples and betrial, all packed up in dozens of laughter form the audience.

The largest audience was 140 people, at the premiere of "In three is better", when the club where we held our pefrormance became overcrowded.

These are the ways in which your financial support will be used:

The money raised could help us find an appropriate space for our theater, equip it with spotlights, a light and a sound system and chairs for our audience.

We need money because the concept of performing in clubs is no longer equitable for us. We lose a lot of time moving our props from one location to another, therefore there is the risk of destroying it. Another downside of not having a location is that it's really difficult to mantain a certain kind of audience. We also want to initiate an International Independent Theatre Festival here in Sibiu, so a location would help us a lot in the organization of the festival.

Raising this amount of money would really help us grow our independent theatre and be more creative.

How much funding we need and where it's going.

Teatru la Infinit needs 50000 EUR for its location. Firstly, a large amount of money will be used for transforming the space into a theater (building a stage, the actors' cabins, creating a room for rehearsals, an office and the bathrooms for the audience). Secondly, the equipment needed for a theater: sound and light system, spotlights, speakers, chairs. And last but not least, the documentation for transforming the space into a cultural space, which is also really expensive and there is nothing to be done without it.

Why our project is valuable to the contributor and to the world

Our Theater wants to bring something different in the cultural world, we want to bring joy and laughter to people, we aim to become a really repsected theater in Romania and abroad. Our point of view in art is very liberal, we want to break the boundaries of the traditional theatre and we also want to gather artists from all over the world in order to form a strong community of independent artists.
Having said all that, we hope that our movement will not go unnoticed, because we trully want to bring a breath of fresh air in the cultural world, and the location that we are aiming at will help us develop our ideas and our creativity. We dedicate our entire work to the audience, because we love offering our deepest feelings and inner thoughts to the people.
