Funny Bones Improv – Laughter Heals!

Imagine being a child in the hospital. You don’t get to see your friends or play outside. You’re hurting and scared. And lonely. Then, you hear about a comedy team coming to visit. You go. You smile. And you laugh. And for just a moment, you forget that you’re in a hospital and you feel good. This is Funny Bones Improv. And this is what your investment will do.

Funny Bones Improv was founded in Chicago in 2008 and added New Orleans to the roster in 2009 and has been continually performing in both cities on a monthly basis. We are holding steady with 10 shows a month among the two cities and we are ready to add more.

The world of Arts in Healthcare and Laughter Therapy is only gaining momentum and with our proven record, we aim to encourage and advance the opportunities for more exposure to these kinds of programs. We hope to build relationships that allow us to expand the existing research on laughter to further prove their benefits, specifically to children, and how it can impact mental health.

We are raising money here to help sustain our efforts in Chicago and New Orleans and to also provide the seed money for us to start performing at hospitals in New York City, Los Angeles, and Austin. We have interest in those cities and before we can begin, we need a minimum of $5,000.00 for each. Each city needs at least one "Wheel of Improv" (and hopefully more!), t-shirts, props, rehearsal space...so very exciting.
