Funeral Funding for my Mother

My father committed suicide when I was 5 years old. Not long after that my mother got married again. Unfortunately it was not a happy life from there on. After approx. 6 years of almost daily verbal and physically abuse, my mother left him and we went back to my father’s side of the family (which we were not allowed to have contact with while she was with my stepdad). I was 13 years old at the time.

5 Months later, a day after my 14^th birthday, my mother went to work and never came back home. We later found out she ran away with my stepdad and abandoned us.

21 Years later on the 18th Dec 2019 I’ve received messages from family members that my Mother passed away that afternoon. They had no money and were not able to give her a funeral. Even though she threw us away and haven’t seen her for 21 years, I’m not heartless and I couldn’t just let her be signed over to the government. The funeral home agreed for us to pay off her funeral in 2 months. With only my siblings and my Mother’s sister at the funeral, I’m now in debt with R23000 and would be forever grateful to get help. I can not afford this.
