Funeral costs for Jared Mae

Today is August 3, 2018 and it is with great sadness that I make this account. The past 48 hrs have been a blur. With extreme pain in my heart and tears running down my face, my family and I are asking for help from anyone to assist our family, my aunt & uncle and cousins in the worst time of our lives.

Jared Mae was born on August 10, 1998 in Baybay, Leyte Philippines. She is the first born of Edgar and Jennifer Ramirez. She is bright, thoughtful and a loving friend to so many people and she cared so much about her two younger sibilings, Jespol and Jessadel. Jared Mae, along with the rest of her family, moved to New Zealand when she was still young as both of her parents were given the opportunity to give their children a better life.

On October 29, 2016, after many complaints of headaches and eyesight problems, Jared Mae was taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Anaplastic Ependymoma, a very rare type of brain cancer. Since then Jared Mae underwent two brain surgeries and three spine surgeries. There were risks of paralyzation, blindness, the need of feeding tubes, deafness and inability to talk. She was constantly attending MRI and CT scans and radiotherapy. Throughout it all, Jared Mae remained strong and positive. She was a constant light for her family even though deep down she was suffering. She fought a long and hard battle. On July 4th, 2018, my beautiful 19 year old cousin Jared Mae Ramirez was called home to the Lord and is in a better place where she no longer has to suffer from pain.

Both my aunt, Jennifer and uncle, Edgar work in New Zealand. However since they are still working to get their citizenship & due to the rules and regulations that their country has, Jared Mae did not have health insurance. The expense of Jared Mae’s funeral has left my aunt and uncle struggling.


We are asking for any help in our families time of need. Your gifts will go towards the funeral and memorial service cost. The loss of Jared Mae has been unbearably difficult as we’ve lost someone we can never get back.

We never imagined having to do this. We hope and pray none of you ever have to go through a loss of an innocent child/teen; Jared Mae was only 19. Life is supposed to be designed for our children to bury us, not the other way around.
