Hello. I operate a very adoption facility for cockatiels. I am raising money for vet bills as a bacterial infection has broken out in the flock, and I require the funds to have all of the cockatiels checked by the vet and treated. I have a flock of 9. One cockatiel sadly passed due to the infection. Another almost passed away but the vet was able to bring her back. She is slowly gaining weight, but others are losing weight. Also amongst my flock I have a blind six year old cockatiel and a dwarf cockatiel, who is approximately 50% the size of an average cocaktiel. I have grave concerns for the remaining flock, some of which do not look healthy and are losing weight rapidly. The vet that I have seen and will continue to see is Dr Mark Hill of Somerton Park Veterinary Clinic in South Australia. My tiels all come from unwanted or undesirable homes or are lost birds that have not been claimed. I am happy to answer and questions that you may have or for you to contact the vet for confirmation.
