Funds for life animal rescue

As an animal lover I am deeply disturbed not only at the sheer number of animals that are euthanized in this Country but the rate at which they are being euthanized every single day. There are too many "unwanted" and homesless pets in the United States. We live in a Society were some people think it is okay to just "throw them away", having complete disregard for their welfare even their fate. The actual numbers are absolutely staggering and heartbreaking. For instance in one "shelter" in the North East, 107 dogs were detroyed in February 2013 alone! The same Shelter destroyed a combined total of 2,289 dogs for 2012. Those are the statistics for only one month and year at one shelter!!The goal of this fund raiser has many levels to it. First and foremost, I would like to raise enough money to either purchase a piece of land in which a "no kill" animal rescue can be built or purchase an existing building that can be converted to meet the needs of a "no kill" animal rescue. Once establised, I would like this rescue to be able to save both dogs and cats from kill shelters all over the country. This rescue would then provide these precious animals a loving and safe environment where they will reside until they are matched up with their loving forever families without the fear of a death sentence hanging over their heads. The second goal of this rescue is to raise awareness of the plight of the precious animals, as well as raise funds for adoption functions. The third goal of this fund raiser is to garner both public and  political support to force shelters across the United States to reform the way their facillities are currently run and eventually transition them into additional "no kill" shelters. This fund raiser will be active for approximately 12 months in which time I will keep everyone updated as to its status through a Face Book page that will be created using the same name *FUNDS FOR LIFE ANIMAL RESCUE* . At the end of those 12 months, if we still haven't raised enough money to create this brand new "no kill" rescue, the money that has been collected will be donated to an "no kill" rescue program already in existence with the understanding and an agreement that those funds will be used to expand their program and save more lives. I, personally, will never stop trying to raise both awareness and funds to help rescue as many of these precious animals as possible. I know deep down that we are a Nation of animal lovers and I am begging for your help to join me in this fight. Together, we can make a difference.
