Fundraising to inspire the next generation of young leaders at 2019 Rotaract Preconvention

Hello,

I am excited that you are here and let me introduce myself first. My name is Darious Nkwasibwe from Kampala, Uganda. I am a Rotaractor with the Rotaract Club of Rubaga. I am very passionate about youth empowerment and have been doing this through delivering financial literacy and personal development sessions to fellow young people. I have received excellent and exciting feedback from the people in my community about the work that I am doing and the impact it is having on the young people.

Recently, my work caught the attention of the Rotary International President as a result of the excellent leadership skills and commitment to service to humanity exhibited through what I do. He has invited me to be a speaker at the 2019 Rotaract Preconvention in Hamburg, Germany to share my story and knowledge with peers so that I inspire them for personal growth and development. This invitation means a lot to me and fellow Rotaractors from all over the world. It is an opportunity to inspire young people to do more while growing their personal, professional and leadership skills. The interaction will have with fellow facilitators, will also increase my knowledge and experience which I can then use to inspire more young people back in my country. It is an opportunity to grow a network that will support positive impact for the society back here.

THE COSTS AND FUNDRAISING TARGET.

To attend this convention, I am expected to cover all the related costs including conference registration, an air ticket, accommodation and meals. The total costs of these items adds up to Two thousand and Fourteen United States Dollars (2,014 USD). This is ideally a huge cost and I wouldn’t wish it to stand in my way of contributing to a positive world by inspiring the next generation to take action for their own development. I will be able to utilize personal savings of up to 500 dollars but as you can see, this would be insufficient. I therefore request for your support to make this opportunity a reality.
