UPDATE: Donation pot currently stands are £24 - the rest has already been spent on the previous 2 trips or on sleeping bags (24) and wind up lanterns (5) for the next trip that Dave and I will be taking on December 28th 2015 to Calais. Will be making a final order for sleeping bags / lanterns etc by Dec 18th id imagine so please donate so that we can take over as many as possible!!
As many of you know our first trip resulted in us delivering 44 brand new sleeping bags along with a whole host of clothes, shoes, jackets and food to the refugees in Calais.
I recently visited again on November 23rd where I delivered a further 50 brand new and more appropriate sleeping bags (they were thicker). I also delivered a small number of clothes and shoes along with letting someone in some pretty uncomfortable shoes take my wellies!
I was fortunate to be able to visit the "Jungle" on this trip. Its pretty horrible living conditions, however, the one thing I noticed was the happiness that shined through from everyone I met. I also met a beautiful 2 week old baby girl called Rosie (There is a picture on here of her) and her family. Rosie was born in the jungle she now calls home, that is no way of life for anyone.
£10 gives someone a sleeping bag during the harsh winter, however any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated.
The money will probably be spent on sleeping bags however we will take direction from those on the ground in Calais in terms of what they need the most. We also want to donate enough wind up lanterns to stop people using candles and causing mass fires.
I thank you kindly in advance for any donation you give, thank you.
Nad and Dave.
