Campaign Story
On May 14th, the Mocha Super Cyclone Storm made its way along the
Myanmar-Bangladesh coasts and intensified into a Category-5 storm. It
caused extensive damage, forcing over five hundred thousand people from
the affected areas to evacuate.
According
to the latest news, the storm affected over
5.5 million people,
resulting in 41 deaths and more than 700 injuries in Myanmar. Volunteers
in
Sittwe have reported insufficient food in shelters, and locals have
reported that over 1,091 buildings have been destroyed by the storm.
During the last few days, I was discussing with my friend about how we can provide assistance to those in the affected areas. As we are still students, our capacity to assist financially is limited. In order to rebuild the lives of storm victims in Myanmar, I, Htet Aung Hlaing and my friend, Oakker Min Han have collaborated to create this fundraising campaign. Through this fundraising effort, we are dedicated to donating to volunteering organizations actively helping in these regions, such as the Myanmar Red Cross Society.
Your contribution, whether small or large, will have a significant
impact. Donate now and help us rebuild the lives of the Mocha Storm
victims in Myanmar.
