Campaign Story
My name is John Munene. I am a student from Kenya and have recently been accepted as a doctoral candidate at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology to pursue my research in biomedical science. My research topic is focused on elaboration of RNA editing mechanisms with the aim of developing an artificial RNA editing system for genetic code restoration. This means that I am working on the development of an alternative gene therapy for the treatment of human genetic diseases that are caused by point mutations in the DNA. Currently, there is no cure for such diseases, and it is my goal to contribute my knowledge towards scientific advancement in this field of medicine. I am very passionate about this research as I have had family members and friends who have succumbed to such incurable diseases and I want to do everything I can to help others who are struggling with these diseases.
As I am from a humble background, I require assistance to pay the tuition fees in order to enable me to continue with my research. I hope that you will be able to support me as I strive to pursue my goal.
