Campaign Story
We are asking for your help for the hospitalization of my father Rizaldy De Jesus. He experienced a heart attack last Nov. 2 and he's still in the hospital recovering. We had already used up all the balance of my father's healthcard. Our savings and finances are gradually depleting and we do not know if it is enough for the full recovery of my father.
On the night of Nov. 1, 2020, a fire struck our barangay (Sineguelasan). During the turmoil, my father helped carry our belongings out of the house and ran far away to safety. The fire didn't reach our house but at that night, my father was experiencing shortness of breath due to the heavy lifting. He rested for a while and it went away. After a couple of hours, everything has calmed down and we returned back to our home and rested.
The next night, Nov. 2, 2020, around 10pm, before going to bed, my father suddenly started gasping for air and breathing with difficulty. We immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital but was turned down. We tried to get him in to other hospitals but was turned down. The one that accepted us first was Manila Doctors Hospital, it was an emergency and we had no other choice to make. It was a life or death situation. My father was treated on the ER and the initial diagnosis of the doctor was that he had a heart attack (Acute Coronary Syndrome). He has to undergo coronary Angiogram and Angioplasty to make a full recovery.
For the next 4 days, my dad was staying at the ER because we do not have enough money to bring him to ICU. We tried to transfer him to charity hospitals but they are either full or do not have enough equipment. We opted to transfer him to Phil. Heart Center and undergo therapy but upon the conversation of my father's doctor and the Phil. Heart Center consultant, my father isn't fit to be transferred because he has other medical conditions that have to be treated first before he can be transferred to Phil. Heart Center to undergo angiogram and angioplasty. Presently, he is still being treated in Manila Doctors Hospital and gradually recovering. However, the hospital expenses are piling up and we cannot afford it anymore if we overstay.
My father is the sole breadwinner of our small family. I am the only child and I was out of work since 2018 and was continuing my final units in college before the pandemic struck. We do not have enough finances for the treatment of my father.
We would like to ask for your prayers. We are also seeking assistance to raise funds for his hospitalization costs and therapy. Our running balance in the hospital is 205k, and it still expected to go up if we extend our stay. The estimated cost for the angiogram and angioplasty is around 450k-500k. We are exhausting every possible way to lower the expenses and we need your help as we cannot do this alone.
Any amount you choose to give will greatly appreciated!
