Fundraising for Foodstuffs Donation in Covid-19 Efforts

Hi there! We, Aidan Low and Ariel Wee, are students from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) hoping to raise funds to buy foodstuffs for charity organisations aiding Singapore residents and workers in this time of hardship amidst the COVID-19 period. Though we have sourced suppliers for the snacks and food we need to buy, we lack the funding for purchase. This is where we need your help!

Two organisations that we plan to donate to are Filos Community Services and Bright Vision Hospital. Foodstuffs donated to Filos Community Services will go to vulnerable Singaporeans affected by Covid-19 and users of their services e.g. children and elderly. Meanwhile, snacks donated to Bright Vision Hospital, a hospital designated as a Covid-19 facility, will benefit the many foreign workers who are currently Covid-19 patients at the facility.

For this, we need to purchase:

1. 1000 small packets of snacks e.g. Twisties, Mamee Noodles
2. 500 muesli (cereal) bars
3. 50 Milo Powder refill packs
4. 50 cans of food

So far, to purchase these products, we need approximately $2000 by 26 May. However, we would be leaving our fundraiser open to donations past the $2000 mark until 26th May, any excess of which we will donate to Food From The Heart in their campaign to buy basic food for affected families. Ariel and I will be putting a small sum into this fundraiser as well, and we strongly hope you too can help aid those impacted by Covid-19. Any amount will help—afterall, every cent counts!

Often, we do not realise the immense amount of privileges we have in our lives. Be it a cup of warm milo whenever we please, or grabbing a snack in the middle of the night, whatever we would consider “something simple”, is unfortunately hardly “simple” for everyone. Let’s thank our lucky stars, and show our gratitude to them by donating to help the less fortunate. Thank you so much for your consideration!
