Fundraising for Fiji

This summer I am going to be volunteering for 5 weeks in Fiji, working alongside local people to make a difference in some of the poorest communities. During this time I shall help to build local facilities, work within schools teaching English, establish kindergartens, organise youth clubs and encourage the uptake of sport. 

As I prepare for this challenge I am looking to raise funds, through sponsorship, to cover the cost of vital building materials, equipment and resources for communities and schools, which will ensure the project makes a sustainable difference.

In April (weather permitting) my dad and I are attempting to break a World Speed Record in a microlight. This will be done over a closed circuit of 50km. The present record is 102.83 mph...no pressure there then! (You can see an image of the actual QuikR microlight we will be using in the gallery.)

I am also training to complete the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 14th April. Quite a feat for someone not exactly known for long distance running!
