Fundraising for Fairness

We are looking to raise money to save our family.  For the past 3 years we have been fighting in the family courts for equal/shared access to our 2 older children.  This is a case where we have been paying child support but the children's mother doesn't want to provide more access.  This is an issue affecting families throughout North America.  Families with a dad who only wants more time with his kids.  In our case the children's mom wants to take the kids and move away.  Unfortunately our family cannot afford to pay a lawyer, and the other side is represented through legal aid.  This places our family in a difficult position of either choosing to continue to fight and go bankrupt, or to give up.  Your children are never something you should have to give up on, and that is why we are here today with this fundraiser.

This fundraiser will assist us in our fight to keep our daughter and our son in their hometown where they belong with their friends and family.  It will also assist us in trying to get better access than the standard "every second weekend and a Wednesday".  We plan to go to trial and ensure the children's voices are heard.

The monies raised will go towards our legal costs, and a portion will go to efforts to change the law to make equal shared parenting the default result in custody cases, except where it is not in the best interests of the child.  We support "Leading Women for Shared Parenting" and "Fathers for Justice"
