Gabriel Paulo is a brave and courageous 14yrs old. He has been in and out the hospital since his diagnosis of AML in August 2019. He underwent chemotherapy for six months then a failed Bone Marrow Transplant this February 2020. Because he is immunocompromised patient, he was tested positive of covid19 late April 2020 when he was in the hospital for supposedly another set of chemotherapy. Two weeks later, he was swabbed and re tested twice of covid19 , and both result was Virus RNA negative. By God’s grace and mercy, Paulo survived covid19 ! He is one strong boy who fought well. We thank God for His protection because his family are safe too. No symptoms and are covid-19 virus Free.
"One of the things we learned pretty fast about AML was that it is a very expensive illness. The family started out with a whatever-it-takes basta mapa galing si Paulo, but after weeks , months of confinement, a handful of doctors, countless blood transfusions, continuous chemotherapy, failed bone marrow transplant , and now the Covid19 brought by this pandemic - it is when the family struggled to make ends meet as it is. Figuring out where to get resources for the next scheduled treatment is Hard! If not next to impossible. And if treatment gets delayed, time begins to run out for our brave Paulo.
At this time, what we all can do is to pray for Paulo to get healed. As he still is confined in the hospital for another long month treatment, it is at this time that we appeal for help from you our families, relatives, friends and everyone who wants to extend their help of any amount to Paulo and his family.
