Fundraiser for Nepal Earthquake

This time last year nine of us were getting ready to volunteer for five weeks as physiotherapists in Nepal.  We worked in three different hospitals around Kathmandu helping people with a range of different conditions and disabilities. We had a really positive and rewarding experience and this was enhanced by the incredible hospitality and kindness shown to us by our host families, work colleagues and the Nepali people we encountered.  The 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on Saturday on the 25th of April. The death toll is estimated at over 5,200 and this is predicted to rise. This does not account for the numbers injured or badly affected at this time.  We have had communication from two of our three host families who are safe but struggling for food, water and shelter in unsafe environments. One family reported that shops in their are are closed, they don't have gas to boil water or even buckets to collect the rain and are living in tents. They are in desperate need of help and they state in their own words; "your donation is our future". We are still awaiting news from a third family. We are hosting an event in UCD next week to fundraise for this, but for those of you who are unable to attend to donate we have created this page and can guarantee that this money is being sent directly to our contacts in Nepal.  This disaster has really affected us on a personal level and we would appreciate any donations you can spare.
