[Tibetan] Fundraiser for full-page newspaper ad pushing for the legislation of Magnitsky Act in Australia

ཨོ་སི་ཀྲོ་ལི་ཡའི་ནང་ཡོད་བོད་རིགས་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་འཐུས་ཚབ་ཨོ་གླིང་རྒྱལ་ཡོངས་བོད་རིགས་མཐུན་ཚོགས་དང་། དེ་བཞིན་ཧོང་ཀོང་བ་དང་། ཡུ་གུར་བ། རྒྱ་རིགས། ཝེཏ་ནཱམ་སྤྱི་ཚོགས་བཅས་སྡེ་ཁག་གི་འཐུས་མི་རྣམས་མཉམ་རུབ་ཀྱིས་ཨོ་སི་ཀྲོ་ལི་ཡཱན་གསར་ཤོག་ (The Australian) གི་ཤོག་ངོས་གཅིག་ཆ་ཚང་ཐོག ཨོ་སི་ཀྲོ་ལ་ཡའི་མི་མང་དང་གསར་འགྱུར་བརྒྱུད་ལམ་ཁག་གིས་མཁྱེན་རྟོགས་ཡོང་སླད་ཛ་དྲག་གི་གནས་སྟངས་ཁག་གི་སྐོར་དང་། དེ་བཞིན་བཙན་གནོན་འོག་མྱོང་བཞིན་པའི་སྡེ་ཁག་ཚོའི་སྨྲེ་ངག་ཐོས་ཐབས། གཞན་ཡང་ཨོ་སི་ཀྲོ་ལི་ཡའི་སྲིད་གཞུང་གལ་ཆེའི་ཁྲིམས་གཞི་དེ་ལྟ་བུ་ཞིག་སྔར་བས་དགོས་མཁོ་ཆེ་བའི་སྐོར་མཐའ་མའི་འབོད་སྐུལ་བཅས་ཞུ་ཆེད་ལས་འགུལ་ཞིག་སྤེལ་རྒྱུ་ཡིན། ལས་འགུལ་དེ་ཡང་ཟླ་འདིའི་ཟླ་མཇུག་གམ་སྲིད་གཞུང་གིས་ཁྲིམས་བཟོའི་སྐོར་ཚོགས་ཆུང་གིས་ཁྲིམས་འཆར་དེའི་ཐོག་སྙན་ཐོའི་ལན་འདེབས་མ་ཕུལ་གོང་གནད་དོན་དེར་ངོས་འཛིན་གྱི་གནས་ཚད་མཐོ་རུ་གཏོང་ཐབས་བྱེད་རྒྱུ་ཡིན། དེས་ན་གལ་འགངས་ཆེ་བའི་ཁྲིམས་འཆར་དེ་ལག་བསྟར་ཡོང་བའི་བརྒྱུད་རིམ་ནང་ཆ་ཤས་སུ་གྱུར་ཆེད་རང་རང་སོ་སོའི་བློས་བཅད་ཀྱིས་ཞལ་འདེབས་རྒྱ་མི་ཆུང་བ་ཞིག་གནང་རོགས་ཡོང་བའི་འབོད་སྐུལ་ཡང་ཞུ་རྒྱུ་ཡིན། གསར་ཤོག་དེའི་ཤོག་ངོས་གཅིག་ཆ་ཚང་ཉོས་པར་མཁྱོན་སྡོམ་རིན་གོང་ཨོ་སྒོར་ ༣༤༠༠༠ རེད་འདུག་ང་ཚོ་བོད་རིགས་རྣམས་ནས་དེའི་ཆ་ཤས་ཞིག་མཐུན་འགྱུར་རོགས་རམ་ཡོང་བའི་རེ་སྐུལ་ཞུ་།

འགྲོ་བ་མིའི་ཐོབ་ཐང་དང་འགྲོ་བ་མིའི་ཡོངས་ཁྱབ་ཀྱི་རིན་ཐང་བརྩོན་ལེན་བྱེད་དུས་སྐབས་འདི་ལྟ་བུར་རོགས་རམ་ཡོང་བ་ཞུ་རྒྱུ་བཅས།།

Due to the number of issues currently in the Australia Parliament’s tight schedule, the Magnitsky Act may not be put forward to the Parliament within this year. This mean that there may be significant delays before this important act comes into effect in defending human rights and protecting individuals forced to flee their home country due to political prosecution and other crimes against humanity.

With the onslaught of political prosecution and cultural genocide in Tibet, Myanmar’s military coup, Hong Kong’s ever-escalating political prosecution, the Uyghur genocide, political prosecution of Chinese dissidents, and many more global human rights crises, the Magnitsky Act is now ever more important. Most other western democratic countries are already protected by their own versions of a Magnitsky Act; what is Australia waiting for?

The Australian Tibetan Community Association representing all the Tibetan communities across Australia and representatives of other people currently affected by political prosecution and other human rights violations, including Hongkongers, Uyghurs, Vietnamese and non-CCP-sympathetic Chinese minorities, have now gathered as one to publish a full-page advertisement in The Australian before the end of this month, ahead of the government’s response to the Committee report on the act’s legislation, to raise public and media awareness of the pressing issue, to give the oppressed a voice and a chance to be heard; to give the Australian Government the final push it needs to legislate such an important Act.

This fundraiser is therefore set up for the purpose of raising money for this campaign in The Australian. The $34,000 target includes advertising fee paid to The Australian (majority of funding), fee paid to the designer who is drafting the advertisement for us at a low cost of $500 and any fees required for the use of any copyright images.
