The home of Alex Wood, whom resided on the 1900 block of Fairview Avenue in Willow Grove, caught fire on September 8, 2013.  Fire officials have determined the fire started at the residence adjacent to the Wood's house. The fire quickly engulfed the original house and within minutes spread to Alex's house. This tragedy not only destroyed the Wood residence leaving him and father homeless, but the loss of their possessions and memories have been destroyed. Alex also sustained burns to his hands in an attempt to stop the fire from spreading.

The Red Cross was able to provide some assistance, providing Alex and his father accomandations at a local hotel for a few nights. Unfortunately, due to budgeting issues, the Red Cross will not be able to extend their stay at the hotel for much longer, at which point Alex and his dad will be forced to make some tough decisions.

Any donation you can provide will be greatly appreciated. The funds that are collected through this fundraiser will go straight to providing Alex and his father to get a jump start on the long journey of recovery ahead of them. Any amount you can contribute will be put to good use in getting this wonderful family back on track towards living a normal life.

Thank you very much for your help. No amount is too small. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Alex and his dad during this difficult time in their lives.
