Campaign Story
The purpose of this fundraiser is to help provide qualified assistant teachers to several Indigenous Amerindian schools in the Amazon rainforest and savanna's of Guyana's remote interior.
Most primary schools in the interior of Guyana (the only English speaking country in South America) have a severe lack of teachers. Most schools exist out of one room where the ages from 4 - 12 are taught with usually only 1 or 2 teachers for often over 60 children.
I am sure you can imagine the chaos and lack of attention and proper education this situation causes when 1 teachers has to deal with 50 children of so many different ages.
Our goal of this fundraiser is to recruit 5 or 6 qualified volunteering teachers who can assist the local indigenous teachers and help teach the indigenous children. The funds will be allocated for the needed initial and returning plane rides, boat rides and 4x4 transfers as well as towards food and accommodation and lastly also for materials. Our organization will supervise the program locally.
